About Us

Mike and Carol Broadhurst gratefully left big city life to put down roots on 32 acres along beautiful Santa Rosa Creek in early 2001. Both had been involved in agricultural research for many years before getting an opportunity to do something different… They decided to develop lifelong passions for gardening and gourmet cooking into a business.

Once settled work began on a plan to develop a direct marketing business in superior quality produce.  Existing stands of sweet oranges, grapefruit and Fuji apples were supplemented with superior varieties of perennial crops - avocados, blueberries, pluots and pears.  We also grow a number of annual crops with a focus on non-commercial, old-fashioned varieties with rich, delicate flavor… heirloom tomatoes, pickling and slicing cucumbers and much more.

Our attention to the cultivation of these crops cannot be underestimated and is evidenced in flavor.  We now produce crops from over twenty acres.  For example, we have experimented with about fifty varieties of heirloom tomatoes to arrive at the fifteen we now grow each summer.  We continue to try about five new varieties each growing season to identify ones that perform well under our growing conditions.  We guarantee each tomato we sell to have the wonderful flavor you remember from your grandmother’s garden.

The gentle climate of this valley allows an expanded harvest season for many of these crops.  The conditions are nearly ideal for the crops we have chosen to grow.
